Joey

Joey turned 6 months yesterday.  He had his check-up with his doctor this week and he is a healthy baby!  He weights 15 pounds 7.5 ounces now and keeps getting longer 26 3/4 inches).   He also sat up for the first time on his own - it didn't last long.  But today he sat up for nearly 15 minutes.

He also ate his first meal - rice cereal and then threw up a few minutes later.  I think he threw up because he has a cold and the congestion made him throw up but... we will wait until tomorrow to try again. :)

McCabe family in the News!!

First, let me just preface this with - guess who wanted to keep the family healthy and suggest that we go to one of the H1N1 clinics and guess who was complaining about how stupid people are for waiting in such long lines to get their H1N1 flu shots......

And then, this......
Check out Daphne, Joey and Kevin in print and on the news.
You can see Daphne's pink coat when they span the line of people waiting to get their immunizations and then Kevin and Joey are interviewed.

Happy Belated Birthday, Dad!

Apparently this one never got posted - it's been ready to go since 11/3!
So I really missed the ball on my Dad's birthday - it was the 27th.  But it sounds like it was a pretty good one anyhow.

4 Months

Joey turned 4 months old (about 2 weeks ago) but the picture is when he was 4 months.  As of this week he can now roll over both front to back and front to back.  Not that we're comparing but Daphne couldn't do either until she was 5.5 months!!!

New Look

I've decided to updated the look here and.... finally include Joey on the title picture.  For those of you who get this by email - you will actually have to check the blog to see what I'm talking about.
I know I've missed about a whole month of stuff, which you will probably see some glimpses of in the next few weeks.  But first, I must tell you about our fun day yesterday.  Let me preface it by saying....
Daphne has gotten into her TERRIBLE THREEs.
Yes, it is true, even our sweet beloved Daphne can turn into ..something else.
Yesterday was the last day that my Mom was watching the kids after a week of babysitting.  And since we just seem to be prolonging the potty training thing, I guess she decided she would just put Daphne in her big girl underwear all day.
Well, first, Daphne pooped in her underwear.  I don't know what her fear is about pooping in the toilet!!!
Next, even after being repeatedly told not to, she locked her bedroom door and then shut it (after she was out of her room).  Well, after many tries to unlock the door from the outside by Kevin, me and my Mom, we (meaning Kevin) resorted to this.....
First, trying to cut through the lock....

Then, just cutting a whole in the door so he could reach in and unlock the door from the inside....

The damage...

The culprit....

AARGH!!!  If that wasn't enough, later on in the evening, even after just going potty, she peed in her underwear in the middle of the living room floor with both my Mom and I sitting nearby.

And today....she pooped in her underwear - not once, but twice!!!  Yes, one time at home and one time in a JoAnn's store where she then proceeded to hold her pants with the poopies so they didn't go anywhere until we got out to the car.  -Needless to say, I put her back in a diaper.  I think she may go to school with diapers - how big do the sizes go?

It's been awhile...

Time flies.....when you go back to work. Since the last time I posted, we've manage to fit in a lot of stuff. Maisie (Kevin's Grandma) celebrated her 90th birthday. Kevin's Mom and my Mom have both taken care of the kids for some time and now Kevin is off and the Mr. Mom. We also went up to Brunswick to visit with my family and go to the Sensel Family Reunion. Life has been very hectic at home and work. So on with the pictures!
We'll start with a video. Enjoy!

One last day at the pool.

We enjoyed one last day at the pool before it closed. Daphne finally got brave enough to go under the mushroom/umbrella. She usually doesn't seem to like water trickling down on her head ... or water slides.

Broken camera?

And just when we thought we broke the camera at the Franklin Conservatory...

It captured this beautiful picture the next day.

Franklin Park and Conservatory

We met my parents in Columbus on the hottest and most humid day of the year to go to the Franklin Conservatory. Our original plans were for the Ohio State Fair (so I could relive my days as a State Fair band geek) but the fair ran a little earlier than expected.

We saw lots of butterflies and there was an exhibition with Chihuly glass - pretty cool stuff.
