One last day at the pool.

We enjoyed one last day at the pool before it closed. Daphne finally got brave enough to go under the mushroom/umbrella. She usually doesn't seem to like water trickling down on her head ... or water slides.

Guess who!

All of these pictures were taken on my last day of maternity leave, but guess when and with whom?

Broken camera?

And just when we thought we broke the camera at the Franklin Conservatory...

It captured this beautiful picture the next day.

Franklin Park and Conservatory

We met my parents in Columbus on the hottest and most humid day of the year to go to the Franklin Conservatory. Our original plans were for the Ohio State Fair (so I could relive my days as a State Fair band geek) but the fair ran a little earlier than expected.

We saw lots of butterflies and there was an exhibition with Chihuly glass - pretty cool stuff.

Friend's party

In August, we were invited to our friends' party. We think this was the first time that children outnumbered the adults. There were 4 newborns (born since February of this year).

Joseph (Frankl), Joseph (McCabe), Eleanor (Dennedy), Elinor (King)

And lots of dress up outfits for Daphne.

Avery & Daphne. (Anyone see 'The Others'?)

Addicted to TV

I think we are raising two kids addicted to tv. I had just finished changing Joey's diaper where he was turned away from the tv. I went upstairs to throw away the diaper and came back down to this...

Water fun

The weather has been very warm and sunny - good weather for swimming.
So on Sunday (8/9/09) we went swimming at Kevin's cousin's house but we forgot the camera.

Wednesday of that same week we went to Winton Woods and there water park area.

Daphne is more adventurous and will now go through the rainbow on her own. She still won't go under the mushroom where rain trickles down on her head or through the slide in the ark. She'll do a little bit more every year...

Joey having fun watching...

Daphne has this new thing of not wanting to wear a shirt around the house and sharing her baby dolls with Joey.

Totter's Otterville

Totter's Otterville was a big kid play area. We could have stayed there all day and Daphne would have had a blast the entire time. Janet took a vacation day and spent her time with us.
We all had fun. Unfortunately, my car also got hit - more like badly scratched - in the parking lot but the person did report it so at least her insurance is covering it.

Last day at the zoo

Our annual zoo membership expired at the end of July, so we made the most of it and went to the zoo on July 31st. Kevin dropped us off in the morning and met us there after his clinical ended.

At a wedding.

Kevin's second cousin got married and as usual, Daphne was very excited to go so she could pick out what dress she wanted to wear, dance and eat cake - or cupcakes in this wedding's case.
Caroline & Daphne had a blast together.
Daphne dancing - she likes to lift up her dress when she dances.

Pump It Up!

So by the time this is posted, I will have started work yesterday. In the thought that I would soon be starting work, we spent the last 2 weeks of my maternity leave doing lots of different and fun things, of which pictures will be posted over the next few days.
First was Pump It Up! with Jessica, Justin and Jackson. It's an indoor play area with lots of inflatable bouncy things and other kid toys.
Daphne had fun but only on the bouncy things you can jump in. She was to afraid of the slides. If only she had gone down one, she would have seen how fun they were (I went down one).

Knitted wares...

Joey received some knitted items for his birth. While it has not been cold enough for some of them, we thought we'd try them on.

From Katie.

From Amanda Mason. Joey is determined to get his whole hand in his mouth.
